The Nikonians Academy is a photography training institution specialized in a small class environment -typically of 12 students- to provide personalized photography training in all topics related to modern photography in North America. Our workshops are led by the best instructors who teach on the most advanced topics. We aim to shorten the learning curve and help you to master your camera, your tools, your workflow and your vision. Towards that aim, we also offer field photography workshops and photo safaris

Big News
The big news is that we've hired another instructor to lead some of our very popular travel and destination workshops. His name is Michael Mariant and he has been a professional photographer for the Associated Press for a good number of years. You can see his bio here

His area of expertise is leading workshops in the Sierra Nevada and along the Pacific Coast, so we've added four new travel workshops scheduled for later this year and early next year. They are:

Death Valley in the Fall. Landscapes in the desert. Dates are November 13-16, 2008

Yosemite in Winter. Snow covered granite monoliths and beautiful valley scenes. Dates: February 19-22, 2009

Big Sur Spring for beautiful Pacific Ocean vistas and giant forests. Dates: April 2-5, 2009

And Yosemite in Spring for the spectacular waterfalls. Dates: May 14-17, 2009

Nikonians Africa Photo Safari

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime to photograph Africa's amazing wildlife and landscapes. 11/24/08 through 12/6/08.

We'll be photographing the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and at the private Arumeru River Lodge. All with private Land Rovers, professional wildlife guides, catered meals and great accommodations. Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta - October 6 to 10, 2008

Death Valley Photography Workshop

Join us for an unbelievable trip to one of North America's most impressive locations.

Death Valley is regarded by some as desolate and empty. But the desert lovers know that the beauty of the park lies not on the paved road but in abundance away from the tourist spots. Death Vally might to some be an appropriate name for what they see; but there is so much more. Framed by the Armagosa and Paniment ranges, the valley harbors a delicate and fragile ecosystem that changes spectacularly in front of your eyes from day to day. Here, timing is everything.
