Springtime in Yellowstone NP is an exciting time. Bison and Elk have dropped their young. This is the best time to see Wolves and Grizzly Bears as they are actively hunting to feed themselves and their young after a long winter.
Our first night will be in Jackson, Wy. We will leave early for Yellowstone in our specially equipped vehicles with roof hatches. Only 4 participants per vehicle allows everyone plenty of room and a window seat.
Yellowstone provides abundant wildlife opportunities. You will learn how to get into the rhythm of your subject so it accepts your presence and allows you ample time to make your perfect shot. We will discuss field ethics and etiquette, when it is okay to use fill flash and when it’s not, and how low-impact techniques will improve your wildlife and nature photographs. We will practice techniques to use a tripod effectively, shooting with a long lens to get sharp images, and panning techniques to show motion with moving subjects. We will learn how to make great compositions and great art.

You will shoot:
The Wildlife and Icons of Yellowstone National Park. Wildlife species may include; Wolves, Grizzly Bears, Bison, Elk, Pronghorn, Big Horn Sheep, Badger, Coyote, and Fox. We will concentrate on finding subjects with young.
We will visit Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone Falls, and other iconic features for landscape images. No strenuous hiking.

We will base out of Jackson, WY.
If you fly, Jackson Hole Airport, JAC, is about 12 miles from Jackson, WY. Jackson Hole is the valley and Jackson is the town. We can arrange pick up if needed.
First night in Jackson, Wy no meals
Orientation dinner that night. No Host.
Day One:
We will leave early for Yellowstone stopping along the way for all wildlife photo opportunities. We will shoot all day, until dark, with instruction in the field. Eventually we will check into our lodging in the southern part of Yellowstone, have a great dinner, excited and exhausted we get a good nights sleep. BLD
Day Two:
On the road early for wildlife and morning light landscapes. We will make our way to Lamar Valley in search of wolves. With so many opportunities to photograph the wildlife and landscapes of Yellowstone, we don’t know where to point our cameras first.Tonight we stay in Cooke City at the northeastern entrance to Yellowstone. Day Three:
Early morning in Lamar Valley is one of my favorite places to be. Wolves are active, bears are hunting, bison and pronghorn meander along the Lamar River. Our best chance of photographing a badger is today. All is right with the wilderness. We visit Mammoth Hot Springs on our way back toward Jackson, an amazing place totally different from any other part of Yellowstone. Another great day of shooting and learning. We arrive tired and exhilarated to our lodging in Jackson. BL
Day Four:
For those continuing with the Teton Workshop this is a day of rest and touring Jackson. Lots of shops and galleries to enjoy. Get your rental car or ride share. Lodging, meals and transportation are not included for the Teton Wildlife Workshop.
