Discuss this workshop
Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in Utah await us with their amazing rock formations, stone gardens and awe-inspiring canyons.
In the opinion of the best landscape photographers of our time, the greatest landscape photography in the world is the American Southwest.
Full of unique and diverse land forms, they are perfect grounds to hone our skills to capture their powerful majesty.
Join Nikonians founders Bo Stahlbrandt (bgs) and J. Ramon Palacios (jrp) and Mike hagen, Nikonians Academy Director, in this 11th edition of the Annual Nikonians Photo Adventure Trip (ANPAT). The ANPAT is the Nikonians field event of year.

HOW WILL WE BE TRAVELING:
For your comfort, we will be driving in 15-seat passenger vans, occupied by a maximum of 8 Nikonians each. We will all stay the first five days in Zion and the surrounding areas, moving out for the last two days at Bryce.
Zion National Park has a unique and wide variety of target rich areas.
Our plan is to tour the following spots:
- Zion Canyon and the Virgin River
- Court of the Patriarchs
- Checkerboard Mesa and surrounding washes
- Towers of the Virgin
- Emerald Pools
- West Temple
- The Watchman
- Riverside Walk
- Much more
Then, we will head out of Bryce Canyon to spend there our last two days.
Major areas we will visit are:
- Bryce amphitheater
- Thor's Hammer
- Natural bridge
- Navajo Loop Trail (1.5 mile trail through the hoodoo formations)
- Lots more
Not only sunrises and sunsets, but daylight photography will present us with myriad of stunning challenges and opportunities. The American SW is a region with no major cities around, so it offers a very dark and pollution-free sky to further challenge us with night astro photography.
Friday October 7th, will culminate with our group dinner and photo presentation, showcasing the best of everyone's photographs during the week.
