Colin Hocking

Colin Hocking LRPS is an award winning and published photographer from Plymouth, England, who received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Photo Science from the University of Westminster in London. Member of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), he is a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS)

Colin's interest in photography started at a very young age when he would take his little plastic point & shoot out into the woods behind his parents' house to photograph birds.

He started his career at Polaroid UK and worked with many of the big names in the photography world. Moving to the United States, he lived in California for 19 years where he accumulated experience in the field and as owner of a photo-processing business. Now living in North Carolina, he held the position of Photography Department manager with the US National Whitewater Center for several years and later created his own franchise for high volume photography, photographing every photo genre one could think of, including sports, schools, pets, families, children, weddings, engagements, and of course nature and wildlife, his lifetime passion.

While some of his work has been featured in local and national publications he is specially proud of his nature and wildlife photography and of his growing commercial business that includes clients such as Lowe's Corporate, Ingersoll Rand, US National Whitewater Center,. Media Tech Publishing, Hedrick Gardner, Hickmon & Perrin, Care Pkg, Sequel Select and many more.

With a background that includes computer software teaching and the training of trainers, he is recognized as having a knack for teaching complicated subject matter in an easy and enjoyable way.
